Basic information
This read-only MCP Server allows you to connect to Microsoft Dataverse data from Claude Desktop through CData JDBC Drivers. For full CRUD support, check out the first managed MCP platform: CData Connect AI (https://www.cdata.com/ai/).

This read-only MCP server enables LLMs like Claude Desktop to query live Microsoft Dataverse data using natural language. It wraps the CData JDBC Driver for Microsoft Dataverse, exposing Dataverse tables as relational SQL models through a simple MCP interface.
Clone the repository, build with Maven to produce the JAR, install and license the CData JDBC Driver for Microsoft Dataverse, generate a JDBC connection string using the provided utility, then create a .prp file with connection properties. Configure the client (e.g., Claude Desktop) by adding the server entry to claude_desktop_config.json, pointing to the Java executable and the JAR with the .prp file.

You need the Java Runtime Environment, the CData JDBC Driver for Microsoft Dataverse (with a valid license or trial key), and Maven to build the JAR.
The server uses the CData JDBC Driver to connect to Microsoft Dataverse via OAuth. The connection string is configured in a `.prp` file. The server runs locally and uses stdio transport, so it only works with clients on the same machine.
The server uses `stdio` transport. It cannot be accessed remotely.
Authentication is handled by the CData JDBC Driver. When generating the connection string, OAuth will prompt you to authenticate in your browser. The connection string (e.g., `jdbc:cds:InitiateOAuth=GETANDREFRESH;`) is stored in the `.prp` file.
