This example lets you deploy a remote MCP server that requires no authentication on Cloudflare Workers. It is intended for developers who want a quick, serverless MCP endpoint.
Deploy using the “Deploy to Workers” button or with npm create cloudflare@latest -- my-mcp-server --template=cloudflare/ai/demos/remote-mcp-authless. Customize tools by editing src/index.ts inside the init() method with this.server.tool(...). Connect to Cloudflare AI Playground or Claude Desktop (via the mcp-remote proxy) using the generated SSE URL.
this.server.tool()mcp-remote proxyUse the “Deploy to Workers” button on the README or run `npm create cloudflare@latest -- my-mcp-server --template=cloudflare/ai/demos/remote-mcp-authless` in your terminal.
Define each tool inside the `init()` method of `src/index.ts` using `this.server.tool(...)`. For details see the Cloudflare MCP tools documentation.
Go to https://playground.ai.cloudflare.com/, enter your deployed URL (e.g., `remote-mcp-server-authless.<account>.workers.dev/sse`), and use the tools directly.
Install the `mcp-remote` proxy package, then in Claude Desktop’s config add a server with `command: "npx", args: ["mcp-remote", "your-URL/sse"]`. Restart Claude to see the tools.
The server is accessible at `remote-mcp-server-authless.<your-account>.workers.dev/sse`.
