Baseline MCP Server is a Model Context Protocol server that provides Web Platform API support status using the Web Platform Dashboard API. It allows users to query Baseline status of web features and returns results to MCP clients for use with various AI models.
Configure the server in your MCP client (Claude Desktop, VS Code) by running it with Deno or Docker. Deno is recommended; grant permission only for api.webstatus.dev. The JSR package @yamanoku/baseline-mcp-server is used. JSON configuration examples are provided for cline_mcp_settings.json and VS Code settings.json.
Deno is recommended for running the server. You must allow network access to `api.webstatus.dev`.
Add a `baseline-mcp-server` entry to `cline_mcp_settings.json` with the command `deno run --allow-net=api.webstatus.dev jsr:@yamanoku/baseline-mcp-server`.
It uses the Web Platform Dashboard API (`api.webstatus.dev`) to retrieve feature support information.
It reports four statuses: widely (broadly supported), newly (newly standardized), limited (partial support), and no_data (not yet in Baseline).
Yes. Build the Docker image with `docker build -t baseline-mcp-server .`, then configure your MCP client to run `docker run -i baseline-mcp-server:latest`.
