概要

What is Paste MCP?

Paste MCP is a local MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for the Paste app (https://pasteapp.io) that gives Claude, Codex, Cursor, and other AI tools access to your Mac's clipboard history and pinboards — without any data leaving your device.

How to use Paste MCP?

Install via npx add-mcp @pasteapp/mcp to connect Paste to all your installed AI apps, or connect from inside Paste: Settings → MCP & AI Tools → Connect AI Tool. You must approve access for each AI tool; access can be removed in Paste settings at any time.

Key features of Paste MCP

  • Search clipboard history and read copied items
  • Save new items and create pinboards
  • Add items to existing pinboards
  • List all pinboards
  • Works entirely locally on your Mac
  • Requires macOS with Paste 6.6+ and Node.js 18+

Use cases of Paste MCP

  • Ask an AI assistant for a work recap based on today’s clipboard items
  • Find links saved this week and get a summary of key points
  • Organize copied items into a named pinboard for a specific topic
  • Pull a specific clipboard item directly into an AI tool’s context

FAQ from Paste MCP

What does Paste MCP do that Paste’s built‑in features don’t?

Paste MCP gives AI tools (like Claude, Codex, Cursor) programmatic access to your clipboard history and pinboards, allowing them to search, read, save, and organize items — all without manual copying and pasting.

What are the system requirements?

macOS with Paste 6.6+ and MCP enabled in Settings → MCP & AI Tools, plus Node.js 18+.

Where is my clipboard data stored and processed?

All data remains on your local Mac. The server runs locally, and no clipboard content leaves your device.

How do I install Paste MCP?

Run npx add-mcp @pasteapp/mcp in your terminal, or connect from Paste’s settings: Settings → MCP & AI Tools → Connect AI Tool.

Can I revoke an AI tool’s access later?

Yes. AI tools can only connect after you approve access, and you can remove access at any time in Paste settings.
