A thin wrapper around the OpenPyXl Python library that exposes its features as a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, allowing Claude and other MCP clients to read data from Excel files.

How to use openpyxl_mcp_server?

Download the prebuilt executable from GitHub Releases (MacOS or Windows), set executable permissions on MacOS, then configure your MCP client (e.g., Claude Desktop) with the path to that executable as a command with no arguments. Alternatively, run from source by cloning the repository, creating a Python virtual environment, and pointing the MCP client to the Python interpreter and the server script.
