Install via Smithery (npx -y @smithery/cli install @stefanoamorelli/fred-mcp-server --client claude) or manually by cloning the repository and building with pnpm. Configure with a FRED API key in your claude_desktop_config.json using a local Node.js binary, Docker container, or streamable HTTP transport (node build/index.js --http). The server provides three tools: fred_browse, fred_search, and fred_get_series.
