How to use CCTV_Viewer?

Download the APK from GitHub Releases, Baidu Netdisk, or VoidTech Lab. Install on an Android TV box or Android device running API 17+. Use the remote control’s up/down keys to switch channels, the Enter/OK key to show current channel info and open the channel list, the Menu key for the function menu, number keys for direct channel input, and double‑press Back to exit. On non‑TV devices, use keyboard arrow keys, Enter, M for menu, and B for back.

What channels are available?

The app includes CCTV‑1 through CCTV‑17, CCTV‑5+, CCTV‑4 (Asia/Europe/America), plus 21 local satellite TV channels such as Beijing, Jiangsu, Hunan, and more.

Why does the app sometimes crash or restart?

If you enable the X5 kernel incorrectly for your device architecture (32‑bit vs 64‑bit), the app may crash or restart repeatedly. Clear app data or reinstall to recover. Use the APK that matches your device’s X5 kernel version.

Can I use the system WebView instead of X5?

Yes. The settings allow you to switch between the system WebView and the Tencent X5 kernel. If the system WebView can play videos, you can disable X5. Note that after disabling X5, you cannot re‑enable it without reinstalling.

What Android version is required?

The minimum supported Android version is API 19 (Android 4.4). The app works on both phones and TV boxes.

How do I change channels without the channel drawer?

You can enable “direct channel switching with up/down keys” in the settings, so pressing up/down changes channels immediately instead of opening a drawer.
